EoW - S1 - E3 - Lost and Found

Ebo knows something is wrong before anyone else does. From the moment Basha returns, weeks overdue and suspiciously breezy about it, Ebo is the one raising his hand and saying the numbers do not add up. He flags the irregularities in the mission intel, pushes back on Basha's easy confidence, and scolds him for taking the entire statue instead of just the vibranium. Nobody listens, and then a masked intruder starts tearing through the War Dogs headquarters with her bare hands and suddenly Ebo's concerns seem considerably more relevant.

He wants to confess to Rakim and face the consequences cleanly. Basha talks him out of it, and Ebo makes a choice that is against his nature: he goes along with the cover story. He puts his own credibility on the line, tells Rakim the entire incident was an unannounced security drill of his own devising, and even claims he was the masked attacker himself. Rakim believes it and promotes him to field agent on the spot, which is perhaps the most absurd possible outcome for a situation that began with Ebo being completely right about everything. He uses a secret tunnel only he knows about to smuggle Jorani out of Wakanda, closes the door on the whole mess, and ends the story with a promotion he earned by covering up the exact kind of recklessness he spent the whole time warning against.
