Jiayi is a guardian of Ta Lo who takes Hela in when a Hundun creature leads the powerless goddess to the hidden realm. She does not turn Hela away despite knowing exactly who and what she is. Instead she begins teaching her the fighting arts of Ta Lo, though Hela's resistance makes the early sessions go nowhere. Jiayi keeps at it, and the breakthrough comes when she draws out something Hela has never said aloud before: that what she truly wants is not war or dominion but freedom from her father's control and the right to forge her own path. That admission is the key. Once Hela names what she is actually fighting for, the training clicks into place and she masters the techniques quickly.

Jiayi's role ends there in practical terms. She gives Hela the tools and the clarity she needs, and when Odin's forces arrive and Hela leaves Ta Lo to face him, Jiayi has already done everything that mattered. She does not follow into the battle. Her contribution is the conversation that changed the course of everything, not the fight itself.
