Jorani is introduced as the woman who found Basha unconscious in the snowstorm and nursed him back to health, drawing him into K'un-Lun's community and, eventually, into something that looks like a real relationship. What Basha does not know is that she suspected him from the beginning. She saw through his cover, recognized that he was after something, and made a deliberate choice to stay close to him and watch. When he finally slips away in the night and makes off with the dragon statue's head, she is not surprised. She is already moving.

She stows away in his aircraft and follows him all the way to Wakanda, masked and alone, and then proceeds to dismantle every security measure the War Dogs throw at her with the power of the Iron Fist, a title earned by defeating the immortal dragon Shou-Lao and channeling the molten force of his heart. She is not there for a fight. She is there for the statue, which belongs to K'un-Lun and has been sacred to her people for over a thousand years. When she finally faces Basha in the artifact vault and he insists the vibranium was Wakanda's to begin with, she does not argue the point at length. She simply pulls the tongue free from the dragon's head with her bare hands, hands it to him, and points out that this is all he ever needed and all he had to do was ask. She leaves Wakanda with the statue, the argument settled in the most efficient way possible, and heads home.
