Morris finds Hela in a darkened room inside Wenwu's compound after she falls through the roof during her escape attempt. She is stranded, powerless, and with no obvious route out, and he is the one who changes that. The two of them communicate without difficulty, which seems to surprise no one more than Hela herself, who makes a point of noting it. Morris leads her out of the compound, and the two ride out into the night on horseback.

He guides her through the shifting forest maze outside Ta Lo, the enchanted woodland that moves to repel intruders, and gets her safely to the other side. Once Hela is inside the hidden realm and in the hands of Jiayi and the guardians, Morris steps back. He has already done everything he came to do. Without him, Hela never reaches Ta Lo, never trains, and never finds the clarity that changes the entire course of what follows. He is the hinge the story turns on, small and wordless and entirely indispensable.
