WI - S3 - E7 - Hela Found the Ten Rings?
Odin is the architect of his own undoing. He raised Hela as his weapon, fought beside her through a campaign of conquest across the Nine Realms, and then turned on her the moment her appetite for war exceeded what even he could justify. He strips her of her helmet and her power, enchants the helm so that only mercy can unlock it, and casts her out to Midgard. It is a punishment shaped, whether he intends it or not, like a lesson. He then disappears from the story for a while, until Heimdall reports that Hela has vanished from his sight and that a force called the Ten Rings exists on Earth. Odin interprets this incorrectly, assumes Wenwu has killed his daughter, and mobilizes for war.

When he arrives on Earth it becomes clear that his stated reason for coming, vengeance for Hela, is simply conquest wearing a more sympathetic mask. He offers her the chance to return to his side and help him claim the Ten Rings for Asgard, and when she refuses he attacks without hesitation. Hela and Wenwu fight him together and he is beaten, disarmed, and left kneeling. In that moment he does something unexpected: he encourages Hela to kill him, framing it as the natural end to their story. She offers mercy instead, and that choice is precisely what defeats him in the way that matters. He concedes the throne, and the reign he built on conquest passes to the daughter he never understood.
