Wenwu's men locate Hela's helmet before she does, and when she arrives to claim it he sees not a threat but an opportunity. He subdues her with the Ten Rings when she fights back, brings her before her own crown to test whether she can claim it, and when she cannot, he offers her a seat at his table rather than a grave. He wants an alliance with someone of her power and he is willing to be patient about it. She refuses and escapes, and he lets the thread go for now.

When Odin arrives on Earth convinced that Wenwu killed his daughter, the warlord finds himself at war with Asgard through no choice of his own. Hela returns from Ta Lo changed, and the two of them face Odin together, their very different fighting styles working in tandem until the All-Father is on his knees. Wenwu lands the blow that finishes it, driving the Ten Rings together in a strike that breaks Odin's grip on his spear and ends the battle. With Hela taking the throne of Asgard and choosing to use it as a force for liberation rather than conquest, Wenwu joins her. The final image places them both at the edge of Zen-Whoberi, arriving just as Thanos does, the Ten Rings and the power of Hela pointed at a future neither of them has mapped out yet.
