Fandral is one of the Warriors Three, a swaggering swordsman with a taste for tall tales and a weakness for women. He and his companions carry a fearsome reputation as legendary adventurers, though the truth is far less grand. Their storied quests into Jotunheim amount to little more than drinking at a remote outpost inn while inventing the exploits they later boast of.
His roving eye follows him into danger throughout the journey. He flirts his way through the outland tavern and later trades barbs with the Valkyrie Brunhilde, whose warriors he has clearly crossed before. When Thor's quest turns to real war, the braggart is forced to become the hero he only ever pretended to be, standing with his fellow warriors to help hold the line in the battle for Asgard.
