Peril in the Surface World / So Spreads the Net / The Unveiling
Leonard McKenzie is the human captain of the icebreaker Oracle and Namor's father. His crew uses explosives to break apart icebergs, unintentionally causing seismic disturbances that affect Atlantis. King Thakorr sends Fen to investigate, leading her to Leonard's ship. When Fen begins suffocating after leaving the water, Leonard provides medical assistance and saves her life.
Leonard and Fen eventually fall in love and marry, but their relationship is opposed by the Atlanteans. Thakorr sends warriors to retrieve Fen, and a confrontation aboard the Oracle results in Leonard's death. Fen is returned to Atlantis, where she gives birth to their son, Namor.
