Sandu is a carnival mystic who demonstrates extraordinary mental abilities for Don Blake and Jane Foster. Loki observes Sandu and uses magic to increase his existing powers dramatically. Sandu quickly begins using his enhanced abilities for criminal purposes, levitating a bank and removing it from its location. He then escalates his actions by moving buildings, sending objects to the Moon, and declaring himself master of the world.
Sandu eventually attacks the United Nations building and lifts it into the air. Thor confronts him and is struck by flying steel girders before being trapped beneath the building. Sandu chains Thor and buries him. After Thor receives Odin's Belt of Strength and escapes, Sandu transports Mjolnir to another dimension. He attempts to lift the hammer with his mind, but Mjolnir resists his control. The resulting mental strain overloads his enhanced powers and leaves him powerless. Thor recovers Mjolnir, and Sandu is taken into police custody.
