Sasha Demidov

A silent man in a green suit works the floor of La Martinique with a killer's patience and a unique scar carved across his throat. He is hunting the same prize as everyone else circling the club that night: Howard Stark's stolen Nitramine formula. When Spider Raymond stops being useful, the man in green kills him without a word. What he does not know is that the formula is already gone, palmed minutes before by a very particular blonde.

His night curdles when that same blonde, Peggy Carter. She steps out to find the body of her friend and roommate, Colleen. The fight is fast and ugly. It ends with his unintentional departure through the window of Carter's apartment. Beaten and marked, he and taps his failure up the chain on a strange remote typewriter. The order comes back just as cold: finish Carter.

Sasha Demidov never says a word. He is one of Leviathan's two voiceless enforcers, a foreign agent whose vocal cords are gone, left to speak only in silence and violence. The SSR barely knows he exists. To Carter and Jarvis he is a rumor, one of two quiet men with no voice boxes circling a milk truck packed with experimental explosives. Leviathan sent Leet Brannis to empty Howard Stark's vault of the molecular nitramene, and Brannis took the goods and ran. Demidov is the reply to that betrayal, dispatched to reclaim the weapons and close the thief's account for good.

The reckoning arrives on the road back from Cedar Grove. As Carter, Jarvis, and a fading Brannis haul the nitramene toward the Lincoln Tunnel, Demidov drops out of nowhere onto the roof of the moving truck. He shoots Brannis to finish the double-cross, then trades blows with Carter across the lurching rooftop. It goes poorly for him. Carter buries his own knife through his hand and pins him to the truck, and while he is stuck fast, she and the others bail out. The truck sails over the edge into the water below, where the nitramene implodes and takes Demidov with it.
