Milestone: Loses his budding empire and has his life spared by Kate Bishop
Sonny Burch is the Hood's chief enforcer and the man responsible for keeping hundreds of Chinese immigrants locked in a hypnotic trance aboard a hovering Stark-powered locomotive. When Shang-Chi and Kate board the train and the fighting breaks out, he turns that ability directly on Kate, pulling her under and taking her out of the fight at a critical moment. Jun-Fan's timely intervention breaks his grip on her long enough for her to recover, and she corners Burch herself once she is back on her feet. The confrontation lands harder when it becomes clear he was the man responsible for the deaths of her family, and he ends the day on the wrong side of a debt he never expected anyone to come collect.
