The Enchantress agrees to Loki’s proposal that she win Thor’s heart and displace Jane Foster. She has long desired Thor and believes she can succeed where brute force has failed. Arriving on Earth, she visits Donald Blake’s medical office and uses her beauty and sorcery to attract his attention. Jane enters and sees the Enchantress embracing Blake, leaving the office believing that her beloved has betrayed her.
When the Enchantress realizes that Thor’s love for Jane remains unchanged, she recruits the Executioner to remove Jane permanently. She gives him Jane’s picture and directs him to Earth. After the Executioner traps Jane in limbo and bargains for Thor’s hammer, the Enchantress intervenes, immobilizes the Executioner by slowly turning him into a tree, and tries to overcome Thor with magic. When her spells fail to affect his hammer, she attempts to win him through her beauty, but Thor remains loyal to Jane. He banishes the Enchantress and Executioner from Earth.
