Milestone: Gets new, synthetic arms
Elena Rodriguez is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent that gets fitted by Simmons with a pair of advanced prosthetic arms, finer than any the team has built before. She spends her first stretch in 1931 cleared and recovering, learning the reach and limits of her new hands as the others settle into the past around her.
Back in the field for the first time since a past ordeal left its mark, Elena finds that something in her no longer answers the way it should. When the wounded woman they are hiding stirs and sends a bottle toppling, Elena could end it in a blink, yet she only watches it fall and shatter, frozen in a moment that should have been effortless. The failure shakes her, and it is Daisy who coaxes the admission out of her: for that instant, she simply could not move. She fears the trouble is a lingering wound from what she survived, though she cannot yet prove it.
She pushes on regardless, slipping into period dress to help Simmons cut a bullet from Freddy's wounded contact, and when the team turns to the question of the boy's fate, it is Elena who reaches for the gentler path, wondering aloud whether they might steer his life away from ruin rather than end it, only to be told that either choice would doom the future all the same. When the others race off to the final stand, she means to go with them, but Daisy keeps her aboard to hold the ship in case the rest do not make it back in time.
