Now Is Not the End

Ray Krzeminski is one of the SSR agents packed in the New York bullpen when Chief Dooley calls the room to order over Howard Stark's sudden vanishing act. When Peggy Carter stands up for Stark's loyalty, Krzeminski lobs the cheap shot: a crack that Carter "knew a lot of guys during the war." Dooley snaps his name in warning. It bounces right off him. When Daniel Sousa tells him he owes the lady an apology, Krzeminski turns the sneer on the man defending her, mocking Sousa as "Susan" and daring him to do something about it.

Ray Krzeminski is an agent of the Strategic Scientific Reserve, one of Chief Roger Dooley's boys in the New York bullpen. Sent to pick over the crater where the Roxxon refinery used to stand, he studies steel fused to wood fused to concrete and confidently floats "magnets" as the culprit, a theory Jack Thompson dismisses immediately. Dooley then hands him a special detail suited to his particular talents: a crowbar and a ten-ton ball of compressed rubble to pry apart for evidence. Krzeminski does what he does best and pawns the miserable job straight onto Daniel Sousa.

Between wisecracks he takes his swings at Carter, tagging her "Peg Leg" and treating her like office furniture that happens to file reports, never once suspecting the woman he is needling is the very blonde the whole bullpen is hunting. And yet the lazy oaf stumbles into the break of the day. Asked if he found anything, Krzeminski grins that he found something big, and for once he is not exaggerating: the license plate off Howard Stark's car, the same vehicle Peggy and Jarvis drove to Roxxon.

Milestone: Killed by Dorothy 'Dottie' Underwood / Ida

Ray Krzeminski is the crudest badge in the SSR bullpen. He is loud, lazy, and quick with a jab, whether he is writing off Peggy Carter as unfit for night shifts or needling Daniel Sousa over the crutch. A married man, he keeps a girlfriend on the side and hardly cares who knows it. Not much of the actual work ever seems to stick to him.

When the team recovers Howard Stark's stolen arsenal at the pier, Krzeminski helps bag the hired muscle and takes charge of running the prisoner in. He never sees the hit coming. A professional killer runs the transport down and guns both men dead in the street. Chief Dooley lays the loss squarely at Stark's feet. And Carter, who had every reason to despise him, is thrown by how hard the news lands.
