Milestone: Blows up his base with him in it.
Behind the steel curtain sits the most feared man in all of Asia. They call him The Gorgon. A coded message from the captured spy Igor crosses the sea. The message travels down a chain of terrified couriers, each too frightened to face him, until the last simply slides the papers under his door. The Gorgon reads that a creature in America, The Hulk, wields power that nearly matches his own. He does not take this news lightly. He orders a rocket-equipped submarine ready at once and makes his way to America to meet this new beast.
For all the dread packed into his name, The Gorgon fights with technology rather than his fists. When the Hulk boasts that he fears no gun, the Gorgon answers with a ‘will-destroying pellet’ of his own design and marches new his enslaved captives back behind the steel curtain. The triumph sours the instant the Hulk reverts to Bruce Banner, and the warlord recognizes America's foremost atomic scientist. The Gorgon is a freak too, disfigured and desperate. He weeps for the chance to be whole. Banner, ever the hero, blasts him with radiation and the right equipment. Where a Gorgon once stood, an ordinary man rises. Freed of the horror he wore, he frees his prisoners and stays to pay the price “as a man” while an atomic blast swallows his fortress with him in it.
