Kuda is a decorated veteran War Dog deployed to Adwa, Ethiopia alongside Prince Tafari to recover a vibranium axe that has left Wakandan borders. Where Tafari burns with ambition, Kuda counsels caution, knowing there are battles that can be fought another day. Having a family to return to, his priorities have shifted from the boldness of his earlier years as a War Dog. He instructs Tafari to observe from the sidelines while he handles the retrieval, per the prince's parents' orders, though Tafari defies him.

When the future Black Panther arrives with her warning, Kuda struggles to trust a stranger from another time, but eventually agrees to Tafari's proposal to return the axe to its original location. During the return to the battlefield, Kuda is trapped under rubble while trying to shield Tafari, and implores the prince to leave him and complete the mission alone. Tafari returns the axe and comes back to rescue him before the two make it home to Wakanda.
