Captain Carter Were the First Avenger?
Milestone: Killed by Heinz Kruger
Dr. Abraham Erskine is the scientist behind the Allied super-soldier program, overseeing the experiment meant to transform Steve Rogers. He guides the procedure from the laboratory floor, explaining that the serum will trigger immediate cellular change and that the subject must be saturated with vita-rays to control it.
His work is thrown into chaos when a Hydra assassin opens fire. Steve is wounded and the experiment teeters on the edge of failure, forcing Peggy Carter to step in and salvage it. Erskine does not live to see the result. The assassin guns him down in the same stroke, and the secret of his serum dies with him.
