Milestone: Misses his opportunity to receive the Super Soldier Serum but does receive the Hydra Stomper armor
In this history Steve Rogers never receives the serum. A Hydra assassin's bullet leaves him wounded on the laboratory floor and it is Peggy Carter who steps into the chamber in his place. He remains the skinny kid from Brooklyn, but he refuses to sit the war out. When Howard Stark builds a Tesseract-powered suit of armor, Steve becomes the man in the armor, piloting the Hydra Stomper into battle alongside Captain Carter.
He fights at Peggy's side through the war, the two growing close as they rescue Bucky and tear through Hydra's forces. His luck runs out during an assault on a Hydra train. Lured into a trap, Steve is captured and the armor taken, and he is presumed lost. He is found alive much later, chained within Red Skull's castle, kept prisoner so Hydra can use his suit. Freed by Bucky and the Howling Commandos, he is hooked to a temporary power source. Steve pilots the Hydra Stomper one last time to help Peggy battle the creature the Red Skull has summoned.
